Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ABINGTON, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team came up one set victory short in both of its matches on day one of the second North Eastern Athletic Conference crossover weekend.  The Lady Wildcats dropped 3-2 matches to host Penn State Abington and Lancaster Bible College.  With the losses, they are now 6-12 overall and 2-5 in the NEAC.
 
In the opening match against Abington, the Lady Wildcats lost 25-22, 22-25, 12-25, 25-22, 6-15.  Senior Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led the team with 10 kills and 23 digs.  In both set wins, the team came from behind to capture the victories. 
 
As a team, Penn College stepped up the defense totaling a season high 87 digs in the five sets.  Freshman Kaitlyn Young (Harrisonburg, Va.) totaled 19 digs while freshmen Samantha Pogash  (St. Clair) and Sophie Coldsmith (Gettysburg) each added 14. 
 
Coldsmith also notched 28 assists.  Serving proved to be a problem for Penn College as the team committed 12 errors from the service line. 
 
It was almost an identical match against Lancaster Bible with the Lady Wildcats falling 25-17, 15-25, 25-21, 12-25, 6-15.  Gernert again led with 15 kills and added 18 digs.  Coldsmith totaled 22 assists and had a season high 32 digs.
 
As a team, Penn College topped the team's season high digs in the opening match with 97 against the Chargers.   Pogash added 14, Young 12, and freshman Felicia Webber (Perry County) 10. 
 
On the service line, the team totaled 12 aces with Gernert, Webber and junior Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute) each hitting three.
 
The Lady Wildcats take on Gallaudet University and Bryn Athyn College on day two of the crossover starting at noon.
