Women’s Soccer: Bowes Saves 13 in Loss to PSU Berks

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Taking on conference leader Penn State Berks Saturday, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team dropped an 8-0 decision.  The Lions were dominant totaling 46 shots to Penn College's four.  Sophomore keeper Colleen Bowes (Wayne) made 13 saves in the loss that drops the team to 4-9 overall and 3-5 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
 
After Dana Sarcinello scored the opening goal for Berks (10-1, 7-0 NEAC) in the ninth, Chrissy Smith followed in the 14th with her first of three goals in the game.  She had two in the first half.  Berks went into the half up 4-0.
 
Bowes made 11 saves in the period off of 24 shots taken. 
 
The Lions came back in the second totaling 22 shots, but Penn College's offense was able to make some strong runs and get three shots off in the period.  Berks' shots found the net four more times in the half to seal the eight-goal victory.
 
Next up, Penn College takes on Lancaster Bible on Saturday, Oct. 11 for a 1 p.m. match.
