Women’s Soccer: Second Half Drought Deals Lady Wildcats Loss to Rosemont

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Taking a 1-1 tie into the second half, the Pennsylvania College of Technology lost steam allowing seven goals by Rosemont College to lose 8-2 in the 2014 home opener.  Sophomore keeper Colleen Bowes (Wayne) made 15 saves in the game while freshman Hailee Hartman (Lampeter) and senior Valeria Passalacqua (McAlisterville) scored the two goals for the Lady Wildcats.

Rosemont's Taylor Mohr scored the game's opening goal taking the ball quickly down the field and netting a cross in the first minute.  Hartman answered with a clear shot in the 16th off a pass from freshman Caitlin McCarthy.  Both teams had chances the rest of the period, but went in at a stalemate.
 
As a team, Penn College (0-1) totaled 6 shots to Rosemont's 16 in the half.
 
It took only three minutes for the Ravens to break the game open with Stephanie Tamburro taking a long run down to the field.  The Rosemont defense did not allow a shot from Penn College until the 81st minute.
 
Passalacqua gave the Lady Wildcats their second goal in the 87th off a penalty kick.  In the half, Penn College totaled four shots.
 
Next up, Penn College hosts Baptist Bible College on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
