Box Score UTICA, N.Y. – Despite four saves from sophomore
Colleen Bowes (Wayne), the Pennsylvania College of Technology lost 1-0 to SUNY IT Saturday. The match was the first in conference for the Lady Wildcats. The winning goal came in the second half when Kristina Strang netted a ball. With the loss, Penn College drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
It was a stalemate in the first half with SUNY IT (1-1-1, 0-1 NEAC) just outshooting Penn College 5-3. Bowes made a save in the half.
The Lady Wildcats lost steam in the second as SUNY IT totaled nine shots to their one. Bowes recorded three saves in the period. Freshman
Caitlin McCarthy (State College) led the team with three shots.
Next up, Penn College travels to SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday, Sept. 7 for a noon match.
