Richard Shnyder

Richard Shnyder was selected as the wrestling program’s assistant coach in July of 2012.. Shnyder came to Penn College after serving as the assistant coach for the Montgomery Area High School wrestling program from 2001-2011

A native of the area, Shnyder was an athletic standout for the wrestling and football programs at Montgomery.  In football, he helped the team to berths in the PIAA playoffs.  His efforts landed him on the PIAA First Team, All-State in 1990.  As a wrestler, he was the runner-up for the PIAA state tournament in 1988.

After, Shnyder attended Lock Haven University majoring in Health, Physical Education and Recreation where he was a letter winner for the wrestling and football programs from 1990-92.

In 1999, Shnyder began coaching the Milton High School football team where he stayed for five years.  His time there earned him a spot in the Milton High School Coach’s Hall of Fame.  He also was inducted into the District Four Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Shnyder resides in Montgomery with his wife Heather and their four kids Cameron, Garrett, Corey and Emily.
