Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn College fell to Gallaudet, 85-50, in a NEAC men's basketball game Sunday. The Wildcats dropped to 0-3 overall, 0-1 NEAC, while the Bison improved to 2-1, 1-0.
Bryce Lonsway led Penn College with 11 points, on 4 of 9 shooting, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.
Ezra Adams added eight points for the Wildcats and
James Boylan grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Trey Gorden paced Gallaudet with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds. Raymond Nelson pumped in 14 points and Joshua McGriff and Ben Coleman added 13 and 11 points.
The game featured three ties in the opening five minutes of the game. After trading buckets on the first eight points of the game, Penn College took the lead twice.
Thomas Ross connected from downtown to gives the Wildcats a 7-5 lead at 16:17 and a Lonsway trey at 15:20 put PC ahead 10-8. The Bison quickly regained the lead and led by as many as 18 before taking a 36-20 advantage into halftime.
The Wildcats got as close as 13, 38-25, two minutes into the second half but it was all Gallaudet, which led by as many as 38 late in the game, the rest of the contest.
Penn College returns to the court Tuesday, 7 p.m., hosting Alfred University.
