Box Score READING, Pa. – Penn State-Berks led wire-to-wire in an 80-65 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Friday. The Nittany Lions improved to 1-7 overall, 1-2 NEAC, while the Wildcats fell to 2-6, 1-2.
Nathaniel Brown paced Penn College with 14 points, while
Kevin Laurence-El added 11.
James Boylan grabbed a team-best 12 rebounds for the Wildcats.
Dameon Nixon and Christian Burgratt each scored a game-high 18 points for Penn State-Berks.
After
Marquis Delgado put Penn College within one, 6-5, early in the game, the Lions used a 13-0 run to gain a 19-5 lead with 12:02 left in the first. The Wildcats got as close as five, 33-28, after a three and layup from
Cass Wisniewski before Penn State-Berks led by as many as 14. A pair of free throws from Delgado with eight seconds left made it 45-37 at halftime.
Thomas Ross put PCT within three, 48-45, with 14:23 left in the game but the Lions answered with a 17-0 run, spanning six minutes, to take a 65-45 lead. The Wildcats would only get as close as 13 the remainder of the game.
