Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College built a substantial first half lead which led the Warriors to an 86-71 win over Penn College in a non-conference men's basketball game Sunday. Lycoming improved to 5-4, while the Wildcats fell to 2-7.
Bryce Lonsway led Penn College with 13 points, while
Nathaniel Brown,
Ezra Adams and
Cass Wisniewski each added 11 points. Adams also finished with a game-high 14 rebounds.
Alex Newbold netted a game-high 19 points for the Warriors.
Kevin Laurence-El scored the game's first four points to put PCT ahead 4-0. Lycoming answered with 13 straight points to lead 13-4 with 14:21 left in the first half. The Wildcats pulled within six, 27-21, on a Wisniewski free throw before Lycoming ended the half on an 11-7 run to lead 38-29 at halftime.
Penn College got as close as seven, 38-31, on an Adams layup two minutes into the second half but the Warriors quickly rebuilt their lead to double-digits and it never fell below 10 the rest of the game.
Penn College returns to the court Jan. 7 at Lancaster Bible College.
