Men's Basketball: Alfred Scored 60 in Second Half to Down Wildcats

ALFRED, N.Y. – A 60 point second half lifted Alfred University 115-61 over the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team Sunday. The game was the fourth in the week for the Wildcats and second in a row. Freshman Bryce Lonsway (Tiffin, Ohio) led Penn College with nine points. The loss now drops the team to 1-8 overall.

The Wildcats opened the game strong taking a 4-1 lead off of back-to-back baskets from freshmen Laquinn Thompson (York) and Christopher Johnson (Lorton, Va.). Alfred came back to take the lead but kept it close through the first 10 minutes of the game.

Thompson ended the game with two points and five rebounds while Johnson had eight, including four three-pointers and four rebounds.

The Saxons slowly built its lead and eventually went into the break up 55-36. They went on to outscore a tire Penn College 60-25.

For the game, the Wildcats totaled 57 rebounds with junior James Boylan (Newton, N.J.) leading with six. They shot 22-71 (.310) from the field and hit five three-pointers.

Next up, Penn College hosts Central Penn on Monday, Dec. 16 for a 6 p.m. game.
