Men’s Soccer: Wildcats Win Second Straight

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With the help of seven saves from junior keeper Hector Guerrero (Mexico City, Mexico), the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team won its second straight contest with a 4-1 victory over Alfred State College.  The Wildcats had three different goal scorers in the game with junior Ronald Garcia (Brentwood, N.Y.) assisting on two.  Penn College now improves to 2-0 overall.

It was an own goal in the eighth minute that put Penn College on top early in the first period.  The Pioneers equalized just two minutes later when Brian Markel sent a shot to the upper 90 from outside the 18.

The tie stood until the 31st when junior Christian Dressler (McAlisterville) sent a ball in that junior Evan Coyne tapped over to junior Tarik LaRoche (Milton) who made quick work of it.  The 2-1 lead held going into halftime.

In the period, Penn College was outshot 11-8 with Guerrero making three saves.

Senior Tristan Smith (Sandys, Bermuda) made it 3-1 in the 70th when he headed a cross from Garcia.  Just a minute later, the Wildcats put it out of reach when freshman Jared Daku (Danville) took a pass from Garcia in the box.

Next up, Penn College travels to SUNY IT on Saturday, Sept. 6 for a 2 p.m. match.
