Penn College Athletics Announced Remaining 2025-26 CATS Awards

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College finished rewarding its student-athletes and coaching staffs with the remaining 2025-26 CATS awards on Wednesday night between sets of the women's volleyball match against Penn State Harrisburg. The final awards categories included Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, Scholar Team, and the Wildcat Cup.

The Penn College Assistant Coach of the Year was presented to Jake Hytner (Men's Lacrosse) for helping the lacrosse team reach their third consecutive United East Conference Championship game and reach a program-high of 14-season wins for the second-straight year. The men's lacrosse team boasted the United East Player of the Year in Elliot Dotson and United East Rookie of the Year in Ryder Palubinski, marking the second-consecutive season a Wildcat won those awards and honoring 10 on the all-conference team.
 
The Penn College Head Coach of the Year was presented to Tyler Mensch (Men's Soccer) for leading his team to the first conference championship in the program's NCAA era. The Wildcats went 11-7-2 and 4-2-2 in the United East Conference. In the playoffs, Penn College defeated the No. 4 seed Notre Dame (Md.) in the quarterfinals and the two-time defending conference champion No. 1 seed St. Mary's (Md.) in the semifinals, both on the road, to reach the conference final. Mensch coached three freshmen to all-conference honors, including the conference Rookie of the Year in Justin Crismale. 

Women's basketball took home the Scholar Team of the Year award highlighting the team with the highest combined grade point average for the entire 2025-26 academic year. The Wildcats compiled a department-high 3.58 GPA, just 0.01 higher than women's soccer to earn highest academic mark.
 
The Wildcat Cup award recognizes a team's cumulative performance in the classroom, in the community, on the field, and participation in supporting all athletic teams. The top academic performing team last year was women's basketball. The team with highest percentage of its roster completing community service was men's lacrosse. The team with the most competitive success was a tie between men's wrestling and golf, and the team that participated the most in supporting other teams was men's lacrosse.

Overall, the top three program's were: finishing third: was a tie between men's wrestling and women's basketball; coming in second was softball and the 2025-26 Wildcat Cup winner is men's lacrosse for the second consecutive year, and third time in four years.
