WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. —
Penn College's men's and women's soccer teams found midweek success with victories on Wednesday, Sept. 9, while the men's cross country team placed second and the women fourth at the Juniata Eagle Invitational on Saturday. The women's volleyball team, men's nd women's tennis and men's golf were also in action over the weekend.
On the horizon: Wildcat Weekend festivities will bring together students and alumni this weekend as the Wildcats induct a new class of Hall of Fame members on Friday and its inaugural Ring of Honor class on Saturday between the men's and women's soccer games on UPMC Field.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Last week's hometown highlights: Sophomore Megan Kurian (Limerick, Pa.) was named the season's first United East Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 7. for her offensive output a week prior that saw her score nine points on four goals and one assist. In week two of the season, the Wildcats went 1-1 with a 2-0 victory at Chatham on Wednesday courtesy of two second-half goals by sophomore Ella Garman (Boiling Springs, Pa.), her first of the year. Freshman Camryn Lobb (Lititz, Pa.) added to her season point total with an assist on Garman's first goal.
Against Saint Vincent on Sunday, senior Holly Herbert (Mount Joy, Pa.) scored in the 44th minute to take a 1-1 tie into the half before the Bearcats came away with two second half goals and a 3-1 win. Freshman keeper Harley Oliphant (Red Lion, Pa.) posted a season-high nine saves on the day.

MEN'S SOCCER
Last week's hometown highlights: Penn College scored four goals in its two games against Elmira College and Waynesburg University. The Wildcats placed 14 shots with nine on-goal in a 2-1 victory at Elmira on Tuesday as freshman Andrew Mathes (Shavertown, Pa.) and Warrick Beachey (Mifflinburg, Pa.) scored their first career collegiate goals. In a 3-2 setback at Waynesburg on Sunday, Beachey netted his second goal of the season in the 74th minute to cut the Wildcat deficit from 2-0 to 2-1 and sophomore Will Watson (Collegeville, Pa.) scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute before the Yellow Jackets converted a late PK to get the win.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Last week's hometown highlights: The Wildcats earned a set victory with a 25-19 win in the first set against King's College on Wednesday, before the Monarchs stormed back with three set victories to win the match. Sophomore Lilly Stockum (Dauphin, Pa.) and junior Peyton Maass (Harrisburg, Pa.) both led the team with seven kills in the match.
At the Rochester University Invite on Friday and Saturday, the Wildcats dropped 3-0 decisions to Alfred University, Lewis & Clark College, Clarkson University and Smith College. Stockum was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts as she posted 16 kills, two aces and two block assists across four matches.

Last week's hometown highlights: The Wildcats competed at the King's Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Sophomore Josh Myers (Hughesville, Pa.) was the lone Wildcats to earn a singles victory with a 3-6, 7-5 (4-0TB) final against Misericorida in the quarterfinals of the No. 1 bracket. He fell, 6-1, 6-0 to Wilkes in the semifinals. Myers and senior Matt Williams (West Milford, N.J.) took a 7-6 (4-0 TB) win at No. 1 doubles over Misericorida's top pair to highlight the weekend.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Last week's hometown highlights: Penn College dropped its only competition of the week to crosstown rival, Lycoming College. The Wildcats picked up singles victories from senior Faith Murray (Dillsburg,Pa.) at No. 3 singles and sophomore Kiera Wene (Ephrata, Pa.) at No. 4 singles. After the Warriors earned the double team point, Murray and Wene won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last week's hometown highlights: Penn College competed at the Juniata Eagles Invitational on Saturday with the men narrowly missing out on the team title of the 6K race. The Wildcats tied Juniata with 34 points, but the Eagles were one placement finish better than the Wildcats. Freshman Bryce Martin (Souderton, Pa.) finished second in the field with a time of 20:45.8 while seniors Chase Ebeling (Bellefonte, Pa.), Holden Furey (Williamsport, Pa.) and freshman Logan Bohrer (Greencastle, Pa.) all finished in the top ten individually.
In the women's 5K race, sophomore Kate Butzler (Jersey Shore, Pa.) paced the Wildcats with her sixth-place finish in 21:53.25. Senior Elaina Brady (Big Cove Tannery, Pa.) earned a 10th-place finish in 22:07.38 to help Penn College finish fourth overall.

MEN'S GOLF
Penn College hit the links for the first time this fall at the Toftrees Invitational on Sunday. The Wildcats finished day one in 9th of 16 with a team score of 301 (+13). Senior Logan Gawlinski (Kittanning, Pa.) led the pack and is tied for sixth overall at 1-under, 71 in the first action of the season. Also competing for the Wildcats in the event are sophomore Chase Dillman (Gilbertsville, Pa.), senior Brett Keenan (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) and freshmen Carter Girton and Bryce Carey.
