Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In three very tightly played sets, the Pennsylvania College of Technology was able to edge out Keystone College winning 3-0 Wednesday night. Senior
Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led all hitters with 15 kills and added 10 digs while freshman
Sophie Coldsmith (Gettysburg) continued to be sharp with 25 assists. The Lady Wildcats were able to pull out the victory despite a resilient Giants squad that was able to tie the game in the final points of each set. In the end though, it was Penn College 25-23, 25-22, 25-11.
Penn College's (2-2) strongest offense came in set one hitting .275 with 12 kills. The team totaled 34 for the game with freshman
Samantha Pogash (St. Clair) recording six and sophomore
Kaitlyn Klein (Lock Haven) with five. Pogash led all players with 12 digs.
Keystone's (2-3) serving kept them in many of the points as the team had eight aces with both Hannah Zuchowski and Devin Breese recording three each.
At the net, the Lady Wildcats dominated with Coldsmith recording four block assists and junior
Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute) with a solo block and three assists.
Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Harrisburg and King's College on Saturday, Sept. 6 for a tri-match starting at 10 a.m.
