Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) and junior
Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute) each recorded seven kills as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team lost 3-0 to Penn State Berks Tuesday. Berks took the three sets 25-11, 25-18, 25-13 totaling 36 kills along the way. As a team, the Lady Wildcats totaled 25 kills but had 11 errors. With the loss, the team is now 6-10 overall and 2-3 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Berks (8-5, 4-1 NEAC) was in cruise control the whole first set, but Penn College came back to take a 6-1 lead in the opening points of set two. Eventually, the Lions clawed their way back for the win. Both teams were tight in set three, but a big run put the team up 18-8 before eventually taking the set by 12.
Also for the Lady Wildcats, freshman
Sophie Coldsmith (Gettysburg) notched 23 assists. As a team, they totaled 26 digs with Gernert leading with nine.
Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Abington on Friday, Oct. 3 for a NEAC crossover.
