Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Bryn Athyn dealt Penn College an 83-65 loss in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Thursday. The Lions improved to 4-3 NEAC, 4-10 overall, while the Wildcats dropped to 1-7, 2-13.
Kevin Laurence-El scored a team-high 14 points for Penn College and
James Boylan finished with 10 points and a team-best eight rebounds.
Austin Nyekan netted a game-high 18 points for Bryn Athyn.
Bryn Athyn jumped out to an early 14 point lead, 16-2, following a 14-0 scoring run with 14:18 left in the first half. The Lions increased their lead to 17, 28-11, at 7:34. Penn College got as close as 11 twice after an
Antony Griffin jumper made it 28-17 at 6:04, and
Joseph Mangiero's layup made 30-19 with 2:58 remaining. Bryn Athyn eventually led 35-25 at halftime.
Penn College pulled within eight points three times in the second half, the final time coming after
Marquis Delgado's layup made it 57-49 with 7:51 left in the game. Bryn Athyn led by as many as 21 the remainder of the game.
The Wildcats returns to action Saturday, 3 p.m., at SUNY-Cobleskill.
