Box Score COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Penn College dropped a 71-57 decision to SUNY-Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 1-8 NEAC, 2-14 overall, while the Tigers improved to 5-2, 7-8.
James Boylan led Penn College with nine points and
Kevin Laurence-El,
Nathaniel Brown and
Marquis Delgado each finished with seven.
Brian Jackson paced Cobleskill with a game-high 19 points.
Even at 8-8 early in the game, the Tigers used a 6-0 surge to take a 14-8 lead with 12:34 left in the first half. Penn College used its own 6-0 run, with buckets from
Antony Griffin, Delgado and Brown to tie the game again with 9:53 left before halftime. The Tigers scored the next five points before the Wildcats got within one, 19-18, after a three by Griffin and free throw from Brown, with 6:55 on the clock. The Tigers eventually led 36-25 at halftime.
Penn College got as close as nine points in the second half and trailed by as many 22.
The Wildcats return to action Sunday, 2 p.m., at SUNYIT.
