CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - Cazenovia scored a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-0 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday. Penn College fell to 5-7 overall, 3-3 NEAC, while Cazenovia improved to 4-5, 3-2.
Turner Antonakos put Cazenovia ahead 1-0 early in the game after knocking in a pass from Tawan Chalalai in the second minute. Patrick Maroney followed 13 minutes later after a pass from Ryan Mollura to give Cazenovia a 2-0 advantage. Penn College managed just two shots in the opening half.
Mollura made it 3-0 in the 57
th minute before James Hunt added the final tally in the 88
th minute for Cazenovia. Penn College fired three shots on frame in the second half but all three efforts from
Devin Sherman,
Nathan Lehman and
Brian Weisgerber were stopped.
Tom Nicholls stopped four shots in goal for Cazenovia, while
Hunter Gosnell turned away six shots.
Cazenovia outshot Penn College 28-7 and held an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Penn College returns to action Thursday, 7 p.m., hosting Wells College.
