READING, Pa. – Penn State Berks knocked off Penn College 91-74 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Lions improved to 2-12 overall, 2-8 NEAC, while the Wildcats dropped to 3-11, 3-9.
Jamie Steer paced the Wildcats with 27 points,
Alicia Ross added 21 and
Danielle Mowery finished with 10.
Ebani Lewis grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds.
Ross is 85 points away from reaching 1,000 career points.
Deanna Daddona pumped in a game-high 31 points for the Lions and pulled 12 boards. Shanelle Koch finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds and Cassidy Schultz added 15 points.
Berks led 27-20 after the first quarter before leading 49-36 at halftime. The Lions outscored the Wildcats 26-18 in the third, while PCT finished the game with a 20-16 fourth.
Penn State Berks turned 23 Penn College turnovers into 30 points, received 28 points in the paint and added 18 second-chance points.
Penn College returns to the court Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting College of Saint Elizabeth.
