WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 1-0 decision to King's College in a non-conference men's soccer match Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 2-7, while the Monarchs improved to 5-4.
Following a scoreless first half, King's struck in the 59
th minute when Will Brack ripped a shot from the top of the box to give the Monarch's a 1-0 lead.
Malcolm Kane kept the score 1-0 with stellar play in goal in the remainder of the game. Kane picked up four of his seven saves in the final 30 minutes, including a leaping save late in the contest.
Penn College recorded two shots on goal in the game, the first coming in the 56
th when
John Michael Sabga's shot was saved and the final when
Dane Cessna had his attempt stop by a sliding goalie in the 74th minute.
King's outshot Penn College 24-7 and held 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Kane finished with seven saves, while Owen Geedey picked up two saves.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 3 p.m., hosting Cazenovia.
