KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Keuka College rode a 39-29 first half to 69-60 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 1-5 overall, 0-1 NEAC, while the Wolves improved to 3-3, 1-0.
Ben Sosa scored a career-high 20 points, on 7 of 9 shooting, and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Robert Young Jr. added 15 points for Penn College, Spencer Bartron netted 11, and Ryan Lockman finished with 10.
Cliff Stevens led Keuka with 19 points and pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds.
The Wolves jumped out to an 11-2 lead five minutes into the game, and led by as many as 15, en route to a 39-29 halftime advantage.
Keuka took its largest lead of the second half, 45-33, with 18:05 left in the game, and led by 10, 48-38, five minutes later. Penn College rallied to pull within one, 57-56, on
Jesse White's tip-in with 4:22 left to cap a 19-8 run. Young, Lockman, and Sosa paced the run with four points each.
The Wolves answered with 10-2 spurt to take a 66-58 advantage with 1:03 left and iced the game going 3 of 4 from the line.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting SUNY Cobleskill.
