COBLESKILL, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill held on for a 62-52 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats dropped to 2-15 overall, 1-8 NEAC, while the Tigers improved to 8-10, 3-7.
Ericka Lepley netted a game-high 20 points for Penn College on 6 of 19 from the floor.
Cassi Kuhns recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and
Tori Wolfe finished with nine points for the Wildcats.
Stacey Sprague led Cobleskill with 13 points, and Addy Lawson and Monique Britton both finished with 10 points.
Penn College jumped out to a 6-2 lead after a Wolfe layup three minutes into the game before Cobleskill finished off the quarter with a 12-5 run to lead 14-11. The Wildcats rallied in the second quarter to take to leads, the final one coming on a pair Lepley free throws to put PCT ahead 21-19 with 6:29 left before halftime. Cobleskill ended the quarter with an 11-4 spurt to lead 30-25 at the break.
The Tigers led by double figures for the majority of the second half.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 3 p.m., hosting Bryn Athyn.
