ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 3-1 decision to Penn State Altoona in a non-conference women's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 10-4, while the Nittany Lions improved to 7-6-2.
Kaelan Cronan scored her 13
th goal this season when finished off a long pass from Dominque Brown in the 20
th minute. Altoona answered with two goals before the break to lead 2-1 at halftime.
The Lions added a late insurance goal in the 81
st minute.
The Wildcats missed several chances for points in the second half for their four good attempts were saved. Cronan and
Abby Williams had shots stopped in the 52
nd and 55
th minutes, while
Jenna Rejman had a pair of shots stopped in the 76
th minute.
Altoona outshot Penn College 19-15, while the corner kicks were even at four each.
Taylor Gonzales and
Charlee Marshall combined for seven saves in goal.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Keuka.
