AURORA, N.Y. – Penn College scored two goals in a six minute span to defeat Wells College, 2-1, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats improved to 6-4 NEAC, 6-7-1 overall, while the Express fell to 3-7, 4-12.
After a scoreless first half, Wells went ahead 1-0 in the 55
th minute before Penn College scored two goals in the 74
th and 82
nd minute.
Vance Gradwell dribbled the ball from 30 yards and fired a shot to the back of the net in the 74
th minute. Gradwell assisted
Chris McFarland six minutes later with a pass and finish from the 18.
Penn College outshot Wells 11-9, while the Express had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Brendan Skwirut picked up the win in goal for the Wildcats with three saves.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 7 p.m., hosting Wilkes.
