SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna outscored Penn College 40-14 in the in the second and third quarters on its way to a 74-44 win in the Susquehanna Trailways Tip-Off Tournament Saturday. The River Hawks improved to 2-0, while the Wildcats fell to 0-1.
Kaylah Brown led Penn College with a game-high 13 points on 4 of 9 shooting.
Madison Klock added eight points and
Maci Ilgen grabbed nine rebounds and
Cassi Kuhns pulled down eight.
Erin McQuillen and Nevin Hoenninger both scored 10 points for the Hawks.
The opening six minutes feature three lead changes a one deadlock before SU took an 11-6 lead with 4:01 left. Penn College answered an 8-0 run – led by five points from Brown and three from Kuhns – to take a 14-11 lead with 2:24 in the quarter. The Hawks closed out the quarter with seven unanswered to lead 18-14.
SU outscored Penn College 23-11 in the second and 17-3 in the third to lead 58-28, while the fourth quarter was even with both teams scoring 16 points.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 1 p.m., against Westminster at Susquehanna.
