WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 66-56 decision to Bryn Athyn in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday in Bardo Gymnasium. The Lions improved to 3-9 NEAC, 6-15 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 1-9, 2-16.
Tori Wolfe dropped a game-high 20 points for Penn College and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Ericka Lepley finished with 17 points for the Wildcats.
Allie Warren led Bryn Athyn with 18 points, Clayshonia Cogmon finished with 15, Sha'Vion Woodland added 13, and Zeniyah Sanders scored 10.
Tied at 10-10 late in the first quarter, Penn College ended the period with a 4-1 run to take a 14-11 advantage. The Lions rallied to even the score at 14-14 early in the second quarter and built a lead of 35-24 with 1:10 before the break. The Wildcats cut down their deficit with on a layup from
Ashley Donat and a three from
Maddie Wenk, and headed into the break trailing 35-29.
The Wildcats made it a two-possession game several times in the third quarter and got as close as three, 48-45, on a Donat layup with 12 seconds left in the third. Penn College tied the game at 50 on
Dominique Brown's long ball with 7:54 left in the game and took a 53-50 lead on Wolfe's traditional three-point play with 7:09 remaining. BA answered with 15-0 run and never looked back.
The Wildcats return to action Sunday, 1 p.m., hosting Penn State Berks.
