WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College swept SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference softball game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 4-4 NEAC, 10-14 overall after a 3-1 win in the first game, and a 7-1 victory in the nightcap.
In game one,
Cobleskill took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before the Wildcats scored the only runs – three – they would need in the second inning.
Kelsea Dangle's single to center plated
Alyssa Gentile to even the game at 1-1. A wild pitch scored Dangle, and
Taylor Krow brought in Liz Asher with a single to right.
Gentile led Penn College at the plate with three hits.
Taylor Brooks improved to 1-2 after 4.2 innings. She allowed one run on three hits, with six strikeouts and six walks.
Kassie Winters picked up her first save after 2.1 innings in the relief. She allowed no runs, on four hits, with one strikeout.
In game two,
Chelsea Gray's two-run double started a four-run second inning for Penn College and gave the Wildcats the lead for good. Krow and Brooks both followed with RBI single to give PCT a 4-0 lead.
After Cobleskill got a run back in the third,
Mikenna Lyons hit a single to left in the sixth to make it 5-1 and an error plated Krow a batter later.
Krow finished with two hits to lead PCT at the plate.
Morgan Heritage fired a complete-game to improve to 5-5. She allowed one run on five hits, with 13 strikeouts and one walk.
