WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's and women's tennis doubleheader Friday. The men fell 8-1, while the women lost 9-0.
The men are 2-1 NEAC, 5-6 overall, while the women are 1-2, 1-10.
In the men's meet,
Luke Whitenight and
Blake Whitmire picked up Penn College's only point at No. 1 double with an 8-3 win.
Stephen Helminiak had the most competitive singles match for Penn College at No. 6. He won the first set 7-6 (7-5), before the dropping the next two 6-3, 10-8.
Will DeMarco went three sets at No. 4 and lost 3-6, 6-4, 10-3.
In the women's meet,
Jane Herman and
Hanna Williams had the most competitive matches for Penn College at No. 1 singles and No. 5, respectively, before falling 8-4.
