WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College fell to College of St. Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game 79-68 in Bardo Gymnasium on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 1-12 overall, 0-5 NEAC, while the Eagles improved to 10-3 overall, 5-0 NEAC.
Madison Klock led the Wildcats with a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.
Cassi Kuhns recorded a double-double of her own with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Arianna Burke scored a season-high 12 points while
Tori Wolfe pulled down a team high 11 rebounds.
Kamille Jacobs led the Eagles with 20 points shooting 8-19 from the floor and 3-3 from the line. Deja Ingram recorded a double-double for the Eagles with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Damaris King and Kaitlyn Racobaldo finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
College of St. Elizabeth led 38-29 at halftime, before Penn College outscored the Eagles 20-15 in the third, to make it a four-point game heading into the final period. CSE led by double digits for most of third and led by 12, 53-41 with three minutes left in the game. Penn College answered with an 8-0 run – paced by six points from Burke and two from Klock – in the final three minutes to cut into the deficit, 53-49 at the end of the third.
The Eagles opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 59-49 lead with eight minutes left. Penn College got as close as eight, on a Kuhns' lay-up with 8:07 left, but CSE quickly regained a double-digit advantage and its lead never dipped below nine the remainder of the game.
Penn College is scheduled to return to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Gallaudet.
