Penn College Closes Out Spring Break with Four Wins

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Penn College concluded its Spring Break trip with four straight wins and improved to 4-4. The Wildcats beat Dean College, 7-1 and 13-2, knocked off Norwich, 7-2, and defeated Medaille College, 10-7.

Against Norwich,
Penn College scored two in the first on a Brooks single and when Kiana Lukoskie swiped home plate. Elizabeth Asher and Emily Wikane brought in a pair of runs in the fourth before a Taylor Brooks single and Chelsea Gray's double scored three runs.

Morgan Heritage was credited with the victory after a complete-game effort. She allowed five hits and two runs while striking out six.

Brooks went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wildcats in hits.

Against Dean 1,
Penn College got things started in the first inning on a Gray single and scored six in the sixth led by Taylor Brooks, Kiana Lukoskie, and Taylor Krow, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Kayla Christopher pitched Wildcats to victory. She allowed two hits and one run over three and a third innings, striking out two. Kyla Benner and Sarah Woodruff entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Wildcats scattered 16 hits in the game. Gillian Sinnott, Lukoskie, Krow, Liz Asher, and Maddie Wenk each managed multiple hits for Penn College. Wenk, Asher, Krow, Lukoskie, and Sinnott each managed two hits to lead Wildcats.

Against Dean 2,
Five runs in the fifth inning propelled Penn College with runs driven in by singles by Jessica Brooks, Kyla Benner, and Taylor Krow and plated a run in the first on a Taylor Brooks single.

Benner was the winning pitcher for Wildcats. She surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out 14.

Penn College tallied 14 hits on the day. Gillian Sinnott, Kylie Shreiner, Benner, and Brooks each managed multiple hits for Wildcats. Brooks, Benner, Shreiner, and Sinnott all had two hits to lead Wildcats.

Against Medaille,
Penn College claimed a 10-7 victory on Friday, despite a big push by Medaille College in the fifth inning.

The Wildcats got things started in the first inning when Taylor Brooks drew a walk, scoring one run and notched five runs in the third inning. The offense was led by Liz Asher, Taylor Krow, and Olivia Hemstock, all driving in runs in the frame.

Morgan Heritage picked up the win after she went seven innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits, striking out five and walking one.

Hemstock, Kylie Shreiner, and Asher each had multiple hits for Wildcats. Hemstock led Wildcats with three hits in four at bats.

Penn College returns to action Friday hosting Keystone.
