SCRANTON, Pa. – Marywood broke a scoreless deadlock four minutes in overtime to deal Penn College a 1-0 setback in a non-conference women's soccer match Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 5-8, while the Pacers improved to 8-4.
How it happened: Victoria Tzitzis netted a goal in the 94
th minute to secure the win for Marywood.
Penn College withstood a barrage of shots early in overtime before allowing the winning score.
Nicole Lichtinger turned away a header in the 91
st minute and stopped a shot in the 93
rd, while two other Marywood attempts hit a post and sailed over the crossbar.
Inside the box: The Pacers outshot Penn College, 32-5, and held a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Lichtinger picked up 19 saves for the Wildcats in goal.
