WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 1-0 decision to St. Mary's in a United East women's soccer match Saturday at UPMC Field.
The Wildcats fell to 5-10 overall, 2-5 UE, while the Seahawks improved to 9-5-3, 5-0-2.
How it Happened: St. Mary's struck early in the 11
th minute to take an early 1-0 lead and held Penn College to zero shots on goal to lead 1-0 at halftime.
The Wildcats put three shots on frame in the opening 15 minutes of the second half but two shots from
Ashley Donat and one by
Kaelynn Sheetz were stopped.
Nicole Lichtinger turned away three shots in goal for Penn College in the second half.
Inside the Box: The Seahawks held a 9-8 edge in shots and 6-4 advantage on corner kicks.
Lichtinger finished with five saves.
Outside the Box: The Wildcats recognized 12 seniors prior to Saturday's contest.
