CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Penn College lost to Wilson College, 71-48, in a nonconference men's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats dropped to 0-4, while the Phoenix improved to 1-3.
How it happened: Penn College took an early lead on a bucket by
Gavin Barrett, and after ties at 7- and 10-all on shots by Barrett and
Max Jackowsky, the Wildcats went ahead 14-10 on a jumper by
David Brown and led 17-15 after a 3-pointer by
Obens Luxama before Wilson tied the score at 17 and then closed out the half on a 15-8 run and 32-25 halftime lead. In the second half, Penn College closed the gap to three at 32-29 on a Jackowsky layup, but Wilson went on a 16-0 run and led by no fewer than 10 points the rest of the way.
Inside the box: Barrett topped the Wildcats with 12 points, while Jackowsky and
Will Sulesky each chipped in with seven points.
Jesse White led Penn College with four rebounds, as it was outrebounded, 40-23.
Adrian Thomas paced five Wilson players scoring in double figures with 15 points and Warrick Godwin Jr. added 14 points.
