WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College's offensive attack was too much as the Wildcats cruised to a 9-0 win over Keystone College in a non-conference women's soccer match Friday. The Wildcats improved to 2-0, while the Giants fell to 0-2.
How it Happened: Penn College put the pressure on Keystone College from the start with an aggressive offensive attack. Billiegean Hennessy put the first score on the board for the Wildcats off a header from a
Cassie Johnson corner kick in the second minute. Just moments later,
Teagan Willey scored on an assist from
Kaelynn Sheetz to help the Wildcats take an early 2-0 lead. Willey continued by drilling a 25-yard goal from outside the box to score her second of three goals as the Wildcats attack ensued. The final goal of the first half came off a
Kristina Mease header on a cross from Willey, for the Wildcats to go into halftime up 4-0.
Penn College did not let up as Mease and Willey both scored early in the second half to go up 6-0. The Wildcats offense was on full display when Breanna Twigg increased the lead with a goal of her own, as did Johnson and Hennessy, and the Wildcats cruised to a 9-0 victory.
Inside the Box: The Wildcats outshot the Giants 31-6 and held a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
Taylor Gonzales improved to 2-0 with 4 saves.
