WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — After a closely played first half, United East Conference unbeaten Penn State Harrisburg rode a 43-point second half en route to a 92-74 men's basketball win over Penn College on Friday. Penn College now is 2-9 overall and 2-2 in the conference. PS Harrisburg is 12-1, 5-0.
How it happened: Harrisburg built a 13-6 lead in the first four minutes before the Wildcats went on an eight-point run, sparked by two 3-pointers by
Max Jackowsky, and took a 14-13 lead. A jump shot by
Jesse White gave Penn College a three-point edge, and after the game was tied at 16, the Wildcats opened an eight-point spread at 28-20 with 9:43 left in the half with key buckets by Nouhanadou Diallo before a 10-0 run put the Lions back on top. Several lead changes and three ties later, Harrisburg led 49-47 at the break.
An 18-2 run to start the second half gave Harrisburg a 67-49 lead, and with 8:28 remaining, the Lions opened their biggest lead of 26 points at 82-56. For the game, Harrisburg scored 23 points off 20 Penn College turnovers.
Inside the box: White led Penn College in both scoring and rebounding with 19 and 10, respectively, while
Gavin Barrett added 10 points and
James Ross had five assists. Scott Zegary III topped five Harrisburg players in double figures with 24 points.
