WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up another win over on the season over Penn State Schuylkill, 12-0, in a non-conference women's soccer match Monday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved 5-6-1 on the year, while the Nittany Lions dropped to 1-5.
How it happened: Penn College Wildcats' offense continued it's hot streak by scoring 10 goals in the first half.
Lexy Hunselman started the scoring for the Wildcats in the 7th minute, then
Kaelynn Sheetz added two goals of her own to take a 3-0 lead. Hunselman added her second goal of the game on a pass from
Megan Ney and then
Brieanna Twigg reached the back of the net on a pass from sheets to go up 5-0. Sheetz scored her third goal of the game on a pass from
Jaci Hunsberger, then
Riley Reed and Hunsberger added goals of their own to increase the lead to 8-0. Ney scored two goals in the 40th minute as the Wildcats entered halftime with a double-digit lead.
Penn College slowed the pace to start the second half and moved the ball around the field with great passing and execution. Twigg recorded her second goal of the game in the 79th minute and Ney notched her third goal of the game in the 85th minute as the Wildcats went on to win the match.
Nicole Lichtinger picked up one save in goal for the Wildcats.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot the Nittany Lions, 42-1, and held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
