WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Keystone College broke a 1-1 halftime deadlock, with a pair of scores in the second half, en route to a 3-1 over Penn College in a nonconference men's soccer match Thursday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Giants improved to 1-0.
How it happened: Keystone took an early 1-0 lead when a pass deflected off a Penn College defender in the 12
th minute but the Wildcats knotted the game at 1-1 when
Clayton Gothel shot hit the crossbar and
Tyler Weimert's rebound header found the back of the net in the 40
th minute.
The Giants converted a penalty kick in the 49
th minute and an unassisted tally in the 87
th minute.
Inside the box: Keystone outshot Penn College 19-8 (11-3 on-goal), while the Wildcats held an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.
Braeden Eckart turned away eight shots in goal for Penn College.
