WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College earned it's first victory of the season in a nonconference men's soccer match Tuesday evening at UPMC Field, defeating Albright College, 1-0. The Wildcats improved to 1-3-1, while the Lions dropped to 1-3.
How it happened: The first half was a back and forth stalemate as both squads struggled to get going offensively with each team recording one shot on goal. The Wildcats got close with two corner kicks but went into halftime with a score of 0-0. Penn College picked up the offensive attack in the second half putting a lot of pressure on the Lions' defense. The Wildcats scored the lone goal in the 59th minute when
Cooper Smith made a great shot on goal which was deflected by the Lion's goalie and
Dylan Dailey was there to punch the rebound in the back of the net. Albright continued to fight back but the Wildcat's tough defense kept them out of the net to secure the victory.
