HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Penn College knocked off Centenary, 73-70, in a nonconference men's basketball game Monday. The Wildcats improved to 5-5, while the Cyclones fell to 5-7.
How it happened: Centenary erased a seven-point, 64-57, Penn College lead with 4:49 left in the game and pulled within one, 64-63, with 3:47 remaining. The Wildcats sank 13 free throws in the final three minutes to secure the victory.
Penn College overcame a four-point, 16-12, deficit midway through the first half with a 16-8 run and a 28-21 lead on Max Jackowksy's trey with 3:29 left in the opening stanza. A pair of free throws by Jacksowky to end the half gave PCT a 38-29 advantage at the break.
Inside the box: Jackowsky scored a game-high 19 points for Penn College,
Gavin Barrett finished with 14, and
Rees Watkins and
Michael Woolridge both added 10. Jackowsky also grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds.
