WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 3-1 decision to St. Mary's in a United East men's soccer match Saturday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats fell to 1-2-1 UE, 6-5-3 overall, while the Seahawks improved to 1-1-1, 6-4-3.
How it happened: St. Mary's took an early 1-0 lead when it converted a penalty kick in the 18
th minute. The Wildcats quickly responded after
Jimmy Friedman's header, off of
Brendan Geiger's pass, evened the game at 1-1 in the 19
th minute. The Seahawks snuck in a late goal as the buzzer sounded to the end the half ahead, 2-1.
St. Mary's received its final goal when a ball deflected off a Penn College defender.
Inside the box: The Seahawks out shot Penn College, 18-4, and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Cole Catherman stopped nine shots in goal for the Wildcats.
