MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 1-0 decision to Penn State Harrisburg in the United East Volt Division semifinals Tuesday. The Wildcats wrapped up their season at 11-2-7, while the Nittany Lions improved to 11-4-4 and advanced to Thursday's divisional final against Penn State Berks.
How it happened: Both teams sent one shot on frame in the first half with
Teagan Willey's attempt in the 15
th minute getting stopped, and
Nicole Lichtinger turned away a Harrisburg attempt in the 22
nd minute as both teams headed into the break scoreless.
The Nittany Lions peppered Penn College with four shots on goal in the opening six minutes of second half before striking in the 61
st minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats had two looks on goal in the period, but
Cassie Johnson's shots in the 66
th and 68
th minutes were stopped.
Inside the box: Harrisburg outshot Penn College, 10-4, and held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
Lichtinger stopped seven shots in goal for the Wildcats.
