WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College women's volleyball dropped its United East Conference opener in straight sets to Penn State Berks, 3-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, inside Bardo Gymnasium. The Wildcats record sits at 0-1, 4-10 overall while the Nittany Lions claim their first conference win of the season and are now 3-8 overall.
How it happened: Penn State Berks was the first to 25 in all three sets, led by Mackenzie Shoop's nine kills and 12 team aces.
Maggie Mangene led the Wildcats with seven kills.
Inside the box: PSU Berks hit .148 while holding the Wildcats to a negative hitting percentage.
Cheyenne Stein registered six digs and added three service aces.
Up next: Penn College prepares for a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., when the Wildcats play Arcadia and Lancaster Bible, respectively, in Lancaster.
