HALEDON, N.J. – Penn College surrendered a 34-31 halftime lead in an 86-62 setback against William Patterson in a nonconference men's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 2-2, while the Pioneers improved to 2-2.
How it happened: Penn College jumped out to a 13-4 lead five minutes into the game on
Livingston Cross' trey, and took a double-digit lead when Ahmir Elly's three made it 22-11 with 7:51 left before halftime.
Alec Cooper's traditional three-point play with five minutes left put the Wildcats ahead 30-16 but the Pioneers ended the half with a 15-4 run to close the gap to 34-31 at the break.
The Wildcats took its largest lead of the second half after a Cooper layup with 16:59 left in the game gave Penn College a 43-36 lead before the teams eventually deadlocked at 55 with 9:52 on the clock. The Pioneers closed out the game with a 31-7 scoring run.

Gavin Barrett finished with a team-high 12 points, D.J. Smith added 11, and
