HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Penn College won its fourth-straight contest with an 11-4 win over Juniata in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 4-0, while the Eagles fell to 2-2.
How it happened: Penn College started out with a 3-0 lead after goals from
James Thatcher,
Sam Hills, and
Isaac Hernandez. Juniata netted its first score with 4:31 left in the first, before
Camden Elmo answered it with a tally late in the first to give PCT a 4-1 lead.
Quinn Caviola and Hills netted shots in the second to put Penn College ahead 6-1 at the break.
Hernandez an Elmo both scored in the third and gave the Wildcats an 8-1 advantage heading into the fourth. Juniata scored consecutive goals to start the fourth to make it 8-3 before Hernandez found Thatcher with 8:50 left in the game to give the Wildcats a 9-3 lead. After the Eagles made it 9-4 with 6:59 left, Dotson and C.J. Jones found the back of the net to close out the scoring.
Inside the box: Hills, Thatcher, Hernandez, and Elmo each finished with two goals each for the Wildcats. A.J. Dotson dished out a team-best two assists.
James Cella stopped 12 shots in goal and improved to 4-0.
