WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College overcame an 8-6 halftime deficit to beat Immaculata, 15-13, in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 6-2, while the Mighty Macs fell to 4-3.
How it happened: After
Camden Elmo gave Penn College an early 1-0 lead, Immaculata scored three-straight to lead 3-1. Elmo made it 3-2 with 3:49 left in the first before the Macs added another score to take a 4-2 advantage at the end of the first.
Croix Teter and
Quinn Caviola netted back-to-back goals to start the second and tie the game at 4. After
Sam Hills and Caviola gave PCT a 6-5 lead, the Macs ended the half with three unanswered and an 8-6 halftime lead.
Immaculata built its lead to 10-6 with two-straight to start the third, before the Wildcats netted six-straight – led by Teter's two goals - to take the lead for good, 12-10.
Inside the box: Caviola, Teter, and Elmo led Penn College with three goals each, while Teter recorded a team-high three assists and
James Thatcher and
Trevor Soli dished out a pair of helpers.
Michael Stank went 14 of 20 on faceoffs and
James Cella stopped 14 shots in goal.
