BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 3-1 decision to Bryn Athyn in a United East volleyball match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 1-3 United East, 3-16-1 overall, while the Lions improved to 1-4, 3-14-1.
How it happened: Penn College won the first set, 25-22, before dropping the final three, 25-21, 25-21, and 30-28.
The Wildcats overcame a 21-15 deficit in the first set and tied the game at 22-22 on Lena Howard's kill. A pair of Bryn Athyn miscues put PCT ahead, 24-22, before
Hailey DeBrody's ace won the set.
Nevaeh Ward's kill in the second pulled the Wildcats within two, 23-21, but consecutive errors from PCT secured the second set for the Lions.
A Howard kill in the third set gave Penn College a 20-19 lead, but the Lions ended the set with a 6-1 run. The final set featured three deadlocks late in the match with the final tie coming at 28-28.

Nevaeh Ward led the Wildcats in kills (13) and digs (24), Ward and DeBrody had a team-high three aces, Howard finished with four blocks, and
Jo Hess notched 25 assists.
