WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College won its third-straight match with a 1-0 victory over Wilson College in a United East men's soccer game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 4-1 UE, 9-4-1 overall, while the Phoenix fell to 1-5, 5-10.
How it happened: Penn College struck in the 32
nd minute when
Jack Lenosky scored his second goal of the season on a direct kick. The Wildcats nearly made it 2-0 in the 43
rd minute, but
Alex Heiser's header hit the right post.
Penn College's best chance at an insurance goal in the second half came in the 69
th minute when Lenosky hit the crossbar.
Tommy DeGeyter had an opportunity in the 82
nd minute, but his point-blank shot was stopped.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Wilson, 10-4 (5-1 on-goal) and held a 5-1 advantage on corner kicks.
