LANCASTER, Pa. – Penn College stayed unbeaten following a 2-1 win over Lancaster Bible College in a United East women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 5-0-1 United East, 12-0-4 overall, while the Chargers fell to 3-3, 4-5-4.
How it happened: Bible took an early 1-0 lead with an unassisted strike in the ninth minute before Penn College responded with two unanswered scores.
Cassie Johnson converted a penalty kick in the 14
th minute for her sixth goal this season and
Brooke Klinger netted the go-ahead goal when she buried
Ashley Gordon's pass in the 43
rd minute.
The Chargers had two quality chances to even the game in the second half but a shot in the 46
th minute hit the crossbar, and
Nicole Lichtinger turned away another attempt in the 48
th minute. Johnson missed a chance at an insurance goal when her shot in the 48
th minute was saved.
Inside the box: LBC outshot PCT, 16-15, but the Wildcats were more accurate with an 11-3 advantage on shots-on-goal. Both teams attempted two corner kicks.
Lichtinger stopped two shots in goal for Penn College.
