WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Penn College fell in three sets to Gallaudet and McDaniel at the GU Tri-Meet on Saturday. The Wildcats United East Conference mark dropped to 1-6 following Saturday's opening match against the Bison (6-0 UE, 22-4 overall). Penn College fell to 3-20 overall this season in a 3-0 nonconference match against the Green Terrors (10-6 overall).
How it happened: The tri-match host Bison earned set victories of 25-6, 25-12 and 25-12 to remain unbeaten in United East competition. Penn College closed the scoring margin against McDaniel in the second match, but the Green Terrors won 25-18, 25-19 and 25-17.
Inside the box: Lana Howard posted a .429 hitting percentage against Gallaudet, finishing with four kills two aces, 1.5 blocks and five digs.
Nevaeh Ward posted a team-high seven kills and
Jo Hess dished out 12 assists.
Against McDaniel,
Laney Wolfe recorded 12 digs to lead the defensive efforts while
Hailey DeBrody hit .400 with five kills, two aces and 2.5 blocks. Ward continued to lead the offensive output with a team-best six kills.
