WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College concluded its unbeaten regular season with a 5-1 win over Bryn Athyn in a United East women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats finished the regular season 7-0-1 United East, 14-0-4 overall, while the Lions fell to 3-4-1, 6-8-1.
Penn College will likely earn either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in next week's United East playoffs.
How it happened:
Sierra Klinger assisted on the Wildcats first three goals in the first half. She found
Wiley Egan in the first minute with a cross from the right, before connecting with
Cassie Johnson on back-to-back scores in the 14
th and 30
th minute to give PCT a 3-1 halftime lead.
Johnson scored her 13
th goal of the season when she finished
Olivia Casella's pass in the 56
th minute. Klinger added her fourth assist of the game in the 76
th minute when she hooked up with
Megan Kurian to make it 5-1.
It was Kurian's 25
th goal of the season and broke the previous single-season goal record set by
Kaelynn Sheetz '24 last season.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot BAC, 20-11 (12-9 on-goal), while corner kicks were even at four each.
Nicole Lichtinger earned her 10
th win of the season with eight saves in goal.
Up next: Penn College will return to action Saturday hosting the United East quarterfinals against an opponent to be determined.
