LANGHORNE, Pa. -- Stunned by a quick score, the sixth-seeded Penn College was not able to recover and fell, 2-0 to No. 3 Cairn in the United East men's soccer quarterfinals on Saturday night. The Wildcats' impressive season ended with an 11-5-3 mark, the Highlanders advance to the semifinals with an 11-2-5 record.
How it happened: The home-team Highlanders struck quickly in the third minute with a goal that just got past the diving arms of
Cole Catherman. One minute later, came the best chance the Wildcats had in the first half to get on the board with
Logan Stapleton beating the defense and running down the left side of the field, Stapleton tried to chip his shot over the Cairn keeper but came away empty. Cairn added an insurance goal to go ahead 2-0, in the 29th minute and held on for the entire second half.
Inside the box: Penn College finished with just four shots-on-goal and lined up for three corners while the Wildcat defense did not surrender a Highlander corner.Catherman posted six saves in 90 minutes of action in net.

Jack Lenosky fired off a shot on frame in the 76th and 82nd minutes of the second half that was turned away from the Cairn netminder. The Highlanders held an 18-14 shot advantage (8-4 on-goal) in the contest.
